Ultimate General: Gettysburg has been restored to the App store after being removed a week ago for containing the confederate flag.
After people in America began vocally opposing the confederate flag, Apple’s response was to pull any game that contained it, including Ultimate General: Gettysburg, which used the flag in a historical context. The players response to this was to begin playing the game on Steam. Steam Charts tracks player data, which showed that the game peaked at 250 players before the Apple incident, but more than doubled to 507 after the game was pulled from the App store.
As could be expected, if a game is banned then people will do what they can to play it anyway. Thankfully, the game has since been restored to the App store, so those wishing to play it on their iThingys can go nuts.
